Anchor Class: NYC Energy Conservation Code & Energy Conservation Measures

Tuesday, October 25th, 2016 - NYC Energy Conservation Code & Forward Looking Energy Conservation Measures (manual and online resource included)

NYC desires to improve efficiency and information transparency in mid-sized buildings and non-residential spaces. The City Council and the Mayor worked together to introduce a series of bills which will require mid-sized buildings (25,000 sq. ft. and up) to upgrade their lighting systems, sub-meter their commercial tenant spaces, and benchmark their annual energy use. The City will also require retro-commissioning (tuning-up of all building systems).

Class Objectives:

  • Additions, Revisions and Deletions to the NYC Energy Conservation Code

  • Local Law 91 and its impact on capital projects

  • Forward looking Energy Conservation Measures

  • Tie in with Local Law 86, Impact on Capital Projects

  • Impact on buildings with 25,000 to 49,999 sf new, Local Law 84: Energy Audits and Retro Commissioning

  • Most Pressing Immediate Actions

  • The City's Call for increased participation of MWBEs
